August Bournonville’s ballets became the core of her career, where she notably partnered with Thomas Lund and filmed Bournonville’s complete classes in 2005, which are available on YouTube. Since 2013, Gudrun Bojesen has taught this particular style both in Denmark and internationally.
From 2021 to 2024, she served as Artistic Director of the Copenhagen Ballet Academy in Copenhagen. In 2022, she completed the Post Professional Dancer Teachers Certificate at the Royal Academy of Dance and has since prepared students for examinations within this system. In addition, she has given lectures at the University Extension (Folkeuniversitetet) since 2021 and served as a jury spokesperson for the upper secondary programme at the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm from 2019 to 2023.
Since 2024, she has also been involved in an ongoing pilot project with online ballet teaching in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.
She received the Reumert Award for “Dancer of the Year” in 2008 and 2013 and has been awarded several major honorary grants:

- Niels Mathiasen’s “Niels Prize” (2004)
In 2015, she became the mother of Gabriel and now works as a florist in Copenhagen.
